When the idea for the New Heliopolis Public Library first came to us. We were a group of visionaries who believed that traditional libraries, with their vast, undifferentiated reading areas, were no longer meeting the needs of modern readers. We wanted to create a space that would inspire and motivate people, spark their creativity, and allow them to fully immerse themselves in the stories they were reading.
To achieve this, we came up with a bold new concept – a library with multiple reading spaces and halls, each designed to suit a different type of story, book, or research. The idea was to create a space that would draw the reader in and help them fully imagine and realize the story they were reading as if they were living inside real events. This would help people to fully engage with what they were reading, and make it a more immersive experience.
We designed the library with both adults and children in mind. We knew that children tend to have shorter attention spans, so we made it easy for them to move between different spaces and reading rooms quickly and easily. We also made sure that the library had open and transparent spaces that would connect readers with the outside world, making it simple to switch between reading and real-life experiences.
Our goal was to attract people who might not usually be drawn to libraries. We wanted passers-by to see inside and get a glimpse of the reading spaces, encouraging them to come in and experience the library for themselves. We wanted to create a space that was not just a repository for books, but a vibrant hub of activity that would inspire and engage people of all ages and backgrounds.
When the library was finally completed, it was a stunning example of modern architecture, with sleek lines and innovative design features. Inside, the multiple reading spaces and halls were filled with books, magazines, and other reading materials, all carefully curated to suit different interests and reading levels. The library quickly became a popular destination for readers of all ages, attracting people from all over the city who were eager to experience the latest innovations in library design. I feel proud to have been a part of creating such a unique and inspiring space for the community.
